You will not find sliding jaw expansion mandrels, also referred to as segment expansion mandrels, in any catalogue. As a matter of principle, they need to be designed for the specific requirements of the clamping task.
In close cooperation with out customers, we design and build sliding jaw expansion mandrels or combinations of sliding jaw expansion mandrels (centring) and face clamping. Of course we can also draw on different basic models, which are presented in the following.
By using new manufacturing processes, we are able to offer sliding jaw expansion mandrels up to diameters of 12 mm. It should be noted that, compared with sleeve expansion mandrels, sliding jaw expansion mandrels offer considerably greater clamping strokes.
The sliding jaws have a positive return. To date we have realised sliding jaw expansion mandrels for one to six jaws. The shape of the jaws was either round or square. In addition to the mandrel, we also manufacture the tail tod with cylinder for you.
