Collet stud chucks GHHZ and GHZ

Compared with conventional three-jaw chucks, the collet stud chucks manufactured by Geiger + Haag have the advantage of more compact design. Powerful radial clamping has an additional axial component which fixes the work piece to the supporting base.

The clamping jaws are braced in the chuck body. They are guided symmetrically to the rotating axis. Owing to the concentric movement, the clamping jaws fully absorb the tilting moment. Thus, collet stud chucks achieve very good frictional tightening, together with a high level of true running and repeatability accuracy.

The changing of clamping inserts enables different clamping diameters. Owing to their exceptionally long clamping stroke for collets and easy changing of the clamping inserts, you can use our collet stud chucks for a wide number of applications.

In addition to the standard series GHHZ for bar stock and GHZ for bar sections, we can, of course, also offer customised variants.

Collet stud chucks can be designed for external and internal clamping. They are used for machining bars, tubes and shafts.

The main advantages of our collet stud chucks:

  • No running errors. Running errors due to jaw displacement or chuck body deformation are thus completely eliminated.
  • The down-pull of the work piece onto the fixed bed is produced automatically via the axial operating force when clamping the work piece.
  • Excellent clamping precision.
  • Steel design. All wear and tear parts are hardened and polished.
